Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This research paper develops a new method for car type classification using two different car views. We first built a database for each car type based on three geometric ratios. We could obtain a statistical distribution of these parameters values. Dimensions of the unknown car are retrieved using a shape extraction method. In a final part, an index of similarity was defined in order to compare unknown cars geometric proportions with those from the generic models.
