Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have examined LCD-OLED dual mode device switchable from LCD to OLED drives. A variety of iridium complexes have been prepared to disperse the liquid crystal matrix. In this study, we have prepared various liquid crystalline ligands, and investigated luminescence characteristics of the OLED devices having various liquid crystalline luminescent layer. The Ir complexes having liquid crystalline ligands exhibited comparatively stable nematic phase, and decreased the onset voltage of luminescence. The liquid crystalline ligands can improve the electroluminescence properties in LCD-OLED dual mode device.
