Abstract(in English) | In this paper, an ultra-wideband(UWB)bandpass filter using microstrip five-mode step-impedance resonator is proposed, and its equivalent circuit is analyzed. The ideal Chebyshev-type characteristic function realizable by this filter is obtained, and an efficient design method is developed to determine the equivalent circuit parameters and physical dimensions of the filter. An example filter with a midband frequency of 6.85GHz, a 3dB-FBW of 105%, and passband return loss better than 12dB is designed, and sharp skirt property and ultra-wide passband are realized using only one 5-mode resonator. In order to reduce the passband return loss and suppress higher order spurious resonances, matching lines and hairpin type low-pass filters are added to the UWB filter. As a result, the Federal Communications Commission's indoor limit is met quite well over a very wide frequency range. |
