Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We studied the performance of the magnetometer made of a high T_c SQUID. The SQUID was magnetically coupled to a cooled Cu or a superconductor pickup coil, whose configuration is useful for applications when large pickup coils are desired. As an example, we designed a magnetometer for geophysical measurement using transient electromagnetic (TEM) method. It was shown that the theoretical field noise of the magnetometer was 0.3 pT/Hz^<1/2> at f=10 Hz, and 40 ft/Hz^<1/2> f>100 Hz when a large pickup coil of 100 mm in diameter and number of turns of N=50 was used. We also constructed a magnetometer using a pickup coil made of HTS Bi-tape. Preliminary experimental result reasonably agreed with the calculation.
