Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Software Defined Radio (SDR) techniques are expected to increase convenience of wireless equipments by providing plural radio services to users and to decrease developing costs. In this paper, in order to evaluate the possibility of SDR modems, we study the amount of the computing throughput of a recent wireless system and decide suitable modem architecture. Firstly, the functions in which SDR techniques provide a lot of benefits are clarified. Secondly, the computing throughputs are measured under the assumption that a dynamic reconfigurable processor FlexSwordTM is employed. Finally, we propose the modem architecture of SDR based modem with FlexSword by considering process timing charts. The possibility of implementing several wireless systems is also considered.
