Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Pitch name estimation is an indispensable technique for achieving automatic music transcription. We previously proposed a pitch (fundamental frequency) estimator using inverse notch filters that achieve extremely narrow pass-band. The inverse notch filters are designed so that its center frequency is corresponding to the pitch of a music signal. The inverse notch filters are connected in parallel. Since their output includes only a specified frequency component of the music signal, the inverse notch filter directly gives a pitch estimate when its output power is greater than a threshold. But, when the magnitude of the pitch is less than the other frequency's one, the capability of the pitch estimator degrades. In this paper, we propose a new pitch estimator utilizing harmonic components of a music signal. When the 2nd harmonic component is firstly detected as a pitch candidate, the frequency of it multiplied by 3/2 exists. In this case, the proposed pitch estimator gives a pitch estimate as a half of the detected pitch candidate. Simulation results show that the proposed pitch estimator can improve an estimation accuracy than the previous one.
