Abstract(in English) Smart utility networks (SUN) are being increasingly attracted over the all over the world as well as Japan as a role of a solution for reducing CO_2 emission. To realize such networks, IEEE802.15.4g task group 4g (TG4g) is under standardization process and under intensive discussion as of today in order to develop an air interface for SUN operating in 400MHz and 950MHz bands etc. Both frequencies will be assigned for low power wireless communication systems for SUN in Japan. NICT has thus proposed a physical layer based on GFSK in the task group. This paper describes a design of the physical layer for the IEEE802.15.4g wireless personal area network (WPAN), and also presents its fundamental transmission performances.
