Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, we proposed a joint transmit/receive frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion to improve the average bit error rate (BER) performance of broadband single-carrier (SC) signal transmissions. For packet access systems, the use of hybrid ARQ (HARQ) is indispensable. In this paper, we propose a joint transmit/receive MMSE-FDE for SC-HARQ by taking the packet combining into account. The set of joint transmit/receive MMSE-FDE weights that minimizes the mean square error (MSE) after each packet combining at a receiver are derived. We evaluate by computer simulation the throughput performance of SC-HARQ using the joint transmit/receive MMSE-FDE in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel.
