Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lasing behavior of single-transverse-mode VCSEL was investigated when optical-feedback polarization was rotated. The optical powers of two polarization modes of VCSEL varied sinusoidally according to optical-feedback polarization rotation. The power variation was observed for the optical feedback ratio larger than -20 dB and dropped suddenly when the feedback ratio became smaller than -25dB. We proposed an in-line type rotation sensor utilizing this behavior. The sensor system was constructed and the detection principle was demonstrated.
