Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We demonstrated novel all-optical signal control techniques using pulse trapping in birefringent fibers, which has capabilities of ultrafast 3R regenerator (amplification, re-timing, and pulse shaping). The observed maximum gain was 20 dB in 140 m-lomg low brefringent fiber. The waveforms of output pulses were ultrashort, nearly sech^2-shaped, and almost chirp free. The initial time difference of 0.5 ps was compensated. It was clarified that the gain was obtained over a wide range of 1650-1800nm. The Experimental results were in good agreement with numerical analysis.
