Abstract(in English) Optical performance monitor that can monitor the optical power and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) is becoming an important optical device in wavelength division multiplexing systems. In this paper, we propose a planar lightwave circuit (PLC) type optical performance monitor (OPM) composed of arrayed waveguide gration (AWG), Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), and chip scale package (CSP)-PD array, and report the characteristics of the fabricated PLC-type optical monitor devices.
