Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In DS/CDMA communication systems, to improve the transmission efficiency, a blind or non-pilot-aided adaptive MMSE receiver based on the signal subspace has been proposed. The blind type receiver, however, has a problem of a severe deterioration of the BER characteristics due to low channel estimation accuracy, compared with the pilot-aided type. In order to combat this problem, we propose such an adaptive filter that the components in the orthogonal complement of the signal subspace are filtered out by using the so-called projection method, and thus both the decrease in processing dimension and improvement in BER performance are achieved. In this paper, we also conduct comparative simulations between the proposed filter and the reduced-rank filter which was proposed by us to deal with the same problem, and the effectiveness of the proposed filter is shown in terms of BER characteristics.
