Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A bird monitoring system project is started in Niigata University. In this system, location information of birds is acquired using a wireless IC-tag (Bird tag) which has GPS receiver system at a constant cycle. In this system, the location information is sent to a base station, and then, the information is deleted from a Bird tag's memory. If a bird is located out of the wireless communication range of a base station, the Bird tag stores the location information into a flash memory. Therefore, if a bird is located out of the wireless communication range of a base station for a long time, there is some possibility that the memory overflow and loss of the location information happens. In this paper, a method which reduces the loss of the location information is suggested. The results prove that the proposed method can reduce the loss of the location information.
