Examination about bias control method of parallel LiNbO_3 optical modulators

Abstract(in English) We improved extinction ratio by putting a new electrode on a Y-branch structure at input side of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. Allowing for applying this method to a multi-value modulation technology, we confirmed a bias control method of parallel LiNbO_3 modulators by simulation. Besides, due to the new electrode structure causes phase shift of lightwave, a new bias control compensating the influence of the phase shift is needed. In this paper, we confirmed the influence of the phase shift by experimentation. And for putting these methods to practical use and introducing to parallel LiNbO_3 optical modulators, we investigated a bias control method of the new electrode structure.
