Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper addresses a real-time sound source orientation estimation system using a 96ch microphone-array. We proposed a beam-forming method with estimation of sound source directivity, and reported orientation estimation of a speech source such as a loudspeaker or an actual human. Furthermore, we showed that the precision of the orientation estimation system is improved to introduce four additional techniques: Amplitude-extraction, correlation-based automatic voice activity detection(VAD), frequency mask and histogram integration. We developed a real-time sound source orientation system. However, the precision of the real-time system is sufficient for practical use. In this paper, we investigate the main causes of the estimation error and propose an advanced real-time orientation estimation system. The experimental results show that the advanced system has lower errors than the previous system by 20°- -30°.
