Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this research is to establish "SOM Canonica". SOM Canonica is a canonical form of self-organizing map (SOM), or an ideal algorithm of SOM families based on machine learning theory. From this viewpoint, Kohonen's standard SOM can be regarded as an approximation of SOM Canonica. The motivation of this study is to establish a prolific matrix of multi-manifold learning algorithm producing fruitful variations, such as higher-rank of SOMs, modular network SOM and so on. In this paper we report our attempts to establish SOM Canonica.
