Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a novel measurement technology, based on sequential ultrafast field sampling incorporating digital signal processing, for simultaneously-monitoring wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) signals. Since the demultiplexing of WDM channels is performed through the digital filter, this method enables us to flexibly design and adjust its profile and center wavelength depending on the symbol rate and the channel-allocation of the signals. In the experiment, four- (20 Gbps/ch) and two-channel (80 Gbps/ch) WDM signals, with the total bandwidth of about 800 GHz, can be discriminated with our digital filter and their eye-diagrams are successfully observed. Besides, we discuss the optimization of the signal-to-noise ratio of the observed signal by tuning the designed filter profile.
