Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Transmission systems that offer high spectral efficiency are the key to realizing large capacity optical transport networks which meet the huge traffic demands expected in the future. Moreover, higher-order quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM)is a indespensable to achieve higher spectral efficiency. We have demonstrated 160-Gb/s DP(dual polarization)16-QAM single channel transmission over 3123.9 km by a digital coherent receiver using a blind algorithm and digital PLL-based frequency offset compensation. Experiments showed that the DP 16-QAM can realize long-haul single channel transport.
