Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A variant to a given irreversible linear transformation is defined based on the LU decomposition of a nonsingular matrix so that the transformation may be computed in a lifting form and may be hence reversible. Round-off errors involved with the lifting computation and the signal excursion are analyzed, and the computational complexity is also given. Some reversible component transforms are presented and experimented to provide helpful information to image compression applications. Discussions are developed with coding gain and actual bit rates.
