Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The A-Train constellation has been led by NASA. The purpose of the A-Train constellation is to observe same places by some instruments installed on the A-Train constellation satellites and to retrieve the effective science data. The operational position of each satellite in the A-Train constellation is assigned based on the each instrument's FOV. In order to enhance the scientific value of AMSR2, JAXA started the analysis for the insertion of GCOM-W1 into the A-Train constellation. From the analysis result, JAXA achieved the operational position of GCOM-W1 in the A-Train constellation, which is from 79.5s to 259.5s earlier than Aqua in both the nominal equator crossing time and the operational mean local time at the ascending node, and the insertion strategy of GCOM-W1 into the A-Train constellation. The insertion strategy of GCOM-W1 into the A-Train constellation is described in this paper.
