Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV) is a Japanese unmanned cargo transfer vehicle developed for the International Space Station (ISS) re-supply and waste disposal purposes. The first demonstration flight (HTV1) was successfully launched on a new Japanese launch vehicle H-IIB in September 2009. The HTV will play an important role in the ISS logistics planning especially after the Shuttle retirement in 2010. The HTV consists of four major modules, i.e., the avionics, propulsion, pressurized logistics carrier and unpressurized logistic carrier modules. After each module completed the protoflight test (PFT) at the contractor site, they were delivered and integrated in Tsukuba for the final system integration tests, and was finally delivered to the launch site, followed by the successful launch. This paper presents the overview of the HTV development in general, and then focuses on the avionics module, which contains the primary part of the HTV avionics system, including the navigation, guidance and control subsystem (GNC), and then prsents the results from the HTV1 flight.
