A Study on a Radar Offset Angle Estimation Method with a Reduction of DO A Estimation Error

Abstract(in English) We had proposed an on-board estimation method for a offset angle between a reference direction of radar and a moving direction of mobile platform which equipped radar. On the radar device with array antennas for DOA estimation, it is necessary to consider affects of the channel imbalance. The affects lead a bias error of DOA estimation and a reduction of resolutions. Then, we propose a new calibration algorithm based a conventional offset angle estimation method and an array calibration technique. Proposed algorithm has capabilities of calibration for the offset angle, the bias error and the reduction of resolutions. And, some numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
