Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless LAN environment, QoS (Quality of Service) for real-time communication service such as streaming distribution is deteriorated with simultaneously connected TCP communications. This is because that a termial which communicates by TCP increases its congestion window size until packet loss occurs in the network under the congestion control algorithm of TCP Reno. The terminal for TCP communication uses the bandwidth greedily even if there are some real-time communications being carried over the same wireless channel. In this paper, we propose a cross layer control algorithm which adjusts the window size adequately to guarantee QoS for real-time communication by using wireless channel occupancy information directly from TCP layer. Empirical evaluations show that our method improves QoS for real-time communication.
