A Study on an Efficient Route Control Method for Two-Layered Satellite Networks

Abstract(in English) Non-Geostationary (NGEO) satellite networks provide many advantages in terms of extensive coverage, efficient power consumption, and instantaneous access. Because of these benefits, NGEO satellite networks have received increasing attention as a means to provide a next generation, high-speed wireless network that is globally available. The latest research in this field has been focused on increasing the efficiency of wireless communications. Multi-Layered Satellite Networks are constructed as multiple layers of NGEO satellite networks. With the efficient management of each layer's network resources, degradation in the quality of service can be reduced and the network capacity can be increased. In order to achieve these benefits, it is necessary to control the amount of traffic in each network layer. In this paper, we propose a routing control method which distributes each layer's traffic appropriately within the two-layered satellite network. We evaluate the performance of our proposed method through simulation.
