Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NTT lab has been developed "bandwidth decomposition employing spectrum editing technique". It divides single-carrier modulated signal into multiple subspectrums by using filter bank, and arranges each subspectrum in unused frequency resources. To evaluate performance of bandwidth decomposition transmission, we developed prototype of bandwidth decomposition transmission modem. The maximum symbol rate of the modulated signal is up to 10MHz and the modem can divide the signal up to 128 subspectra. The results of signal transmission experiments by using the modem showed that the required C/N degradation was less than 0.3dB. Thus, we have confirmed that the proposed bandwidth decomposition is useful. Moreover, we compared circuit side of the bandwidth decomposition modem to that of multi-carrier FDMA (MC-FDMA) modem. The result showed that the proposed bandwidth decomposition modem was 30 percent smaller than the MC-FDMA modem.
