Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a new channel allocation method for VPFDM SATCOM system that enables mobile earth stations to communicate with a low-profile polarization tracking free antenna. The proposed method is based on adaptive multi-carrier modulation technique that selects modulation method (M-method) carrier-by-carrier to effectively utilize satellite radio resources (power and bandwidth). If M-method is freely assigned to each polarization, power of either polarization remains. This is because ; power balance of polarization may collapse depending on carrier allocation. To avoid this problem, the proposed method assigns identical M-method to same frequency with different polarization to keep the power balance of polarization even. Simulation results showed that the proposed method fully utilizes satellite resources, and the system capacity was maximized.
