| Abstract(in English) | Development of satellite communications has been very rapid since the start of commercial operation. Application areas cover not only international trunk circuits but also television program transmission, VSAT, maritime and aeronautical mobile satellite systems and handheld terminals. Such rapid development was enabled by frequency allocations and technical standardization, commercial system development as well as basic research. This special talk makes a general survey on special aspects of research inherent to satellite communications and introduces importance of frequency allocation by World Radio Conference of ITU-R and activities for efficient use of radio spectrum. Valuable findings are presented, which were learnt from experience of commercial system development. Essential factors and future outlook are summarized for research and system development of radio communications. |
