Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report describes the evolved S-band mobile satellite communications system (WIDESTAR II) which launched commercial services in April 2010. The new system provides all of the previous WIDESTAR services and expands data communications at lower charges. We developed enhanced equipment such as satellite mobile terminal, base station equipment and core network equipment, to incorporate IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) and other general-purpose IP technology to allow economical operation and provision of diverse high-speed mobile satellite communications services.
