Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For the purpose of reducing the fault management cost in the all-optical networks, it is investigated to detect degradation of the signal quality only at the terminating points of the monitoring paths and localize single link failure from the routes information of the monitoring paths where degradation of the signal quality is detected. This paper proposes a route calculation method for monitoring paths to localize all the single link failure. The proposed method is based on the lower bound of the required number of monitoring paths and can compute the routes for the minimum number of monitoring paths with the least total path costs when the possible terminating points of monitoring paths are given. By the proposed method, operation cost for monitoring the signal quality is minimized and overhead traffic volume transferred through the monitoring paths can be reduced.
