Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent large-scale data center, two types of network, LAN and SAN are implemented. In order for simple network management, integration of these two networks by Ethernet technology is now hotly discussed. SAN is required significantly low frame loss rate. For integration of LAN and SAN, multi-hop Ethernet configuration is generally used and congestion may occur in traffic hot spot. So, layer 2 congestion control which prevents frame loss in multi-hop Ethernet, QCN(Quantized Congestion Notification), is now discussed in IEEE 802.1Qau. In this paper, we evaluate throughput performance of QCN and reveal QCN has technical problem of fairness among active flows. We also propose a new "Target Rate Initialization method" which improves fairness among flows and show its effectiveness by computer simulation.
