Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose two dynamic resource management methods with model predictive control (MPC) in order to utilize computing and wavelength resources effectively in optical grid. In the first method, we define the dynamic lightpath setup/release process by the logical proposition and formulate the control problem as a mixed logical dynamical (MLD) model. Then we derive the number of transmitted tasks by solving the mixed integral quadratic programming (MIQP). In the second method, the number of transmitted tasks is derived by considering only the number of established lightpaths. This derivation is performed by solving the quadratic programming (QP). The resources are expected to be utilized more effectively with MIQP-based MPC than QP-based MPC because the former considers the dynamic lightpath setup/release process. On the other hand, QP-based MPC is expected to be processed more quickly than MIQP-based MPC. We evaluate the performances of the proposed methods with Matlab and compare those performances with the performance of PID-based method. Numerical examples show that computing and wavelength resources can be utilized effectively by using our proposed methods. In addition, we investigate the computation time of those methods. |
