Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Location information service, which is one of the typical context-aware services, has been popular and in practical use as a mobile communication application. However, indoor location service technologies have many difficulties in terms of the cost, feasibility, and so on. In indoor environments, though GPS devices cannot be used, a small and high-performance acceleration sensor on a mobile phone has some possibilities to overcome the difficulties. We propose an indoor location estimation system using only an acceleration sensor. In this paper, the algorithm to estimate the user's location, e.g. what floor he is on and which room he is in, will be discussed. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed method with the accuracy will be reported.
