Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In IEEE 802.11 wireless local area networks (WLANs), which are extensively used as access networks, transmission opportunities (TXOPs) are equally assigned to every station (STA) connected to an access point (AP) based on carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) when the traffic load is heavy. Therefore, stations (STAs) cannot be satisfied with their quality-of-service (QoS) demands. We propose TXOP Exchange where STAs can opportunistically share the available bandwidth to satisfy their QoS demands. Using a Nash bargaining framework, we can bring these STAs the proportional fairness. We evaluate the effectiveness of our mechanism through analysis and simulations.
