Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) have allowed us deploy seamless and high capacity wireless systems easily and inexpensively. However, recently, channel interference between different services has become a serious problem because access points (APs) of WLANs are located too densely. In the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance used in WLANs, the hidden and exposed node problems occur depending on distance between nodes and the carrier sensing range. In the higher dense deployment mentioned above, the hidden and exposed node problems occur complicatedly. In this paper, we propose an AP cooperation scheme that detects the hidden and exposed node problems between stations (STAs). In our scheme, APs store the information of connected STAs and received frames and share them each other. A strength in our scheme is that any modification is not required on STAs. The effectiveness is verified by simulations. In addition, we confirm how detection results from our scheme can be applied to a conventional AP assignment.
