Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As power consumption in wired networks has been increasing year by year, the power saving for network systems has been attracting a significant attention. Meanwhile, the power saving technologies of network equipments become an active area of research. Specifically, power saving mechanisms, such as power-off of idle functions and adaptive power saving processes, have received a lot of attention in recent years. Therefore, this paper aims to reduce power consumption in the network by controlling routes to maximize the effect of power saving mechanisms in each equipment according to traffic changes in the network. In addition, we propose a route selection algorithm that maximizes the effect of power saving considering quality influences such as delay increases or packet loss posed by the route control. Finally, this paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and verifies the relationship between topology characteristics and effects of power-saving in simulation evaluations.
