An Efficient Calculation of Passive Type Loop Detection Method and it's Implimentation on OpenFlow-based Network

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose the loop detection method reducing calculation load. Recently, network failure to web access and e-mail is caused by loop packets which exist in the network a long time not to reach the destination node. Once loop failure is caused by loop packets in OpenFlow Network, the impact of loop failure is extensive. Since the TTL field doesn't exist in the packet, loop packets are eternally sent by the switch when loop failure cause in OpenFlow Network. Therefore it is important to detect loop packets in OpenFlow Network. Since conventional method investigates many packets, calculation load of conventional method is large. In this paper, we propose the load-reduced loop detection. We take notice that loop flow is kind of elephant flow. Our proposed method investigates only elephant flow. And, we show that the proposed method can detect loop packet and calculation load of the proposed method is reduced about 25% compare with conventional method.
