Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have proposed a service-oriented router(SoR), that supports not only packet transfer but also the collection of rich real-time information that cannot be obtained at end hosts, in order to make highly-developed value creation of Internet applications. SoR is thus required to have a function that manages encapsulated packet data on network in addition to existing functions, such as routing engine. In this paper, we propose an efficient technique of information processing that extracts the valuable information required by applications from Internet lines. We estimate the required performance of the packet data management and the information extraction processing functions. We finally evaluate the required resources of hardware implementation by developing a software simulator called SRIM.
