Distributed storage with access limitation using Shibboleth

Abstract(in English) Information Technology Center, Nagoya University joins the UPKI-Fed which is an academic federation for education and research managed by National Institute of Informatics. UPKI-Fed is composed of Identity Providers(IdP)and Service Providers(SP). IdP is installed at each university, and it authenticates those who belong to the university. SP is installed at private enterprises such as e-journal publishing company or universities. For the growth of UPKI-Fed, it is important that various SPs join UPKI-Fed. The author constructed a distributed storage conformed Shibboleth. The constructed storage is based on Gfarm which is a middleware to form robust storage for fault. The author performed experiments to confirm usability and performance of the constructed SP.
