BILBO Register with Soft Error Detection Function

Abstract(in English) In recent years, an occurrence of a soft error induces a serious problem with nanometer size and low power consumption LSIs. A soft error frequently occurs not only on a memory but a logic circuit unit. In order to solve this problem, a structure with soft error tolerance flip-flop is proposed in this paper. The flip-flop has a capability of soft error detection with low area overhead as well as it works as a BILBO register, which can be used also as a usual register. The proposed flip-flop was area overhead of 35% for a usual BILBO register.
