Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A NEDO project, "Development of Next-generation High-efficiency Network Device Technology" includes the development of ultrafast all-optical LAN technologies, which are capable of handling such huge uncompressed SHV (Super High-Vision) contents with power consumption as low as possible. The system uses electrical time division multiplexing technology to convert an uncompressed SHV signal to a 40Gbit/s signal, and uses optical time division multiplexing technology to convert four 40Gbit/s signals to a 160Gbit/s signal. We developed an experimental equipment to accommodate an SHV signal in an OTU3 signal. Results of BER experiment showed that our system realized error-free transmission of SHV.
