Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Aiming to realize a LAN-SAN system that can handle large scale data such as uncompressed super Hi-vision (SHV) contents, 172Gbps-optical network interface card (NIC) technology based on optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) is being developed at AIST. The NIC will comprise integrated 43Gbps-tranceivers, ISBT all optical gates, SOAs and mode-locked laser diodes. Using discrete components of these, we built a system and demonstrated OTDM transmissions in NHK laboratory. The demonstration was performed at 86 Gbps, where two channels of uncompressed SHV data were transmitted. |
