Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The purpose of this study is to monitor a crowd in festivals etc. and a pedestrian flow in shopping streets etc. by means of sensor networks. Such a monitoring is useful to make the most of guide for persons in festivals, and of digital signage and so on. In the proposed system, a crowd is detected with ultrasonic distance sensors. The network is constructed by using sensor node named Atlas which is aiming at providing application development. Collected crowd information is presented by Web application using Ajax. In this paper, we provide implementation of network and system, and report experiment result and evaluation of population detection with ultrasonic distance sensors.
