Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The initial network entry time is the overhead required to set up an initial link for any network access service, and is one of the most important QoS parameters in this kind of services such as WiFi, WiMAX, etc. This overhead is influenced by the network environment of each served client node, especially in a wireless environment. Identifying its stochastic parameters, maximum, minimum, average and variance is the basis of these services. This paper presents the effect of packet losses on the initial network entry for the services based on Extensible Authentication Protocol, and also a possible solution to speed up the authentication procedure.
