Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Mobile multimedia applications are expected to attract an increasing number of users in the future. To support these applications, the demand for high-speed data transmission and high-quality service are rapidly growing. In the previous works, in order to achieve these demands and improve the throughput performance under multipath environments, we proposed Dynamic SMD (Symbol Mapping Diversity) technique which is implemented for cross-layer design. In Dynamic SMD technique, the packet size is adaptively changed according to channel condition. In this report, we focus on the Doppler frequency due to channel conditions and we propose the determination of packet size for Dynamic SMD technique, and evaluate the throughput performances by using computer simulations. As a results, we can improve the throughput performances in L2 layer by 7% and 43% in the cases when the velocities of the mobile equipment are 5 km/h and 60 km/h, respectively.
