| Abstract(in English) | Cloud computing is a service design paradigm, which enables use-based computing through Web services using utility computing, without investment of devices and maintenance at user side. ACCESS provides Web services infrastructure for mobile handsets and other information devices with NetFront family products. NetFront Browser is a representative product. NetFront Widgets provide devices APIs in ECMAscript. NetFront DirectConnect provides machine-machine communication in ECMAscript. These features provide a basis for real-world sensing functions using information devices with low power consumption and high flexibility. ZebOS is a middleware for communication devices with high portability, which provides high availability with a wide range of features in Layer 2 and Layer 3. The cloud computing from the ACCESS perspective is a three-layer structure with the high end layer with Web services for end users, the middle layer with network services and network management services for network providers, the bottom layer with real world integration functions such as sensing and remote control. This three-layer structure will faciliate providing real-world integration applications in the Ubiquitous Era with utility computing without heavy investment and maintenance contracts. Users can realize complicated network management, state-of-art network protocols, device management, configuration and policy management by utility computing-based services. Application examples include home security services and health control services. |
