Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the spread of high-definition video input devices like high-definition portable video cameras in professional domains as well as in consumer fields, and with the advance of digital broad casting systems and video portal services in internet domain like YouTube, a huge number of high-definition video are available in our everyday life. By doing so, strong desires to utilize those video contents in new ways have been arisen recently. This paper proposes a new video delivery system architecture. This system allows us to access any view areas with available multiple resolutions. The basic is that the partial-area based pre-coded video streams are stored in advance, and these streams are delivered based on users' view requests. These streams are constructed dynamically by combining multiple area-based streams according to users' view points. This paper specifically describes the details of an Area-based separated video coding scheme. In addition, a new video transcoding scheme to combine separated multiple streams is described in detail. Finally, our current implementation details and simulation results are mentioned.
