Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In ITS wireless multihop networks in which vehicular computers are modeled as mobile nodes, if mobile nodes are sparsely distributed, it is better to be treated as DTNs (Delay-Tolerant Networks). Our previous paper proposed a novel routing protocol by which data messages are always transmitted along a sequence of road parts detected by GPS satellite navigation systems. The data messages are forwarded only by vehicular computers on the sequence for achieving higher reachability, shorter transmission delay and less communication overhead. In case that a wireless multihop transmission route includes intersections and there are no appropriate neighbor nodes of a node carrying data messages, the node moves through the intersection and is out of the route. It is required for the node to select whether the data messages are transmitted back to the route or the data messages are transmitted along a newly detected route. This paper proposes that the distance between the intersection and the mobile node carrying the data messages is applied as criteria to select one of the two methods and evaluates the performance in simulation experiments.
