Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HoG)is one of the most popular algorithms for first person vision, namely, detecting important objects or recognizing the scene in the image/video in real time. In the HoG algorithm, the magnitude and the orientation of the gradients in the input are calculated to form a histogram, which is used as a feature vector. The HoG algorithm has some advantages such as simplicity in implementation and high recognition/detection performance. In this paper, a rough idea of the HoG algorithm is introduced so that the readers can implement its essence within 40 minutes and within 100 lines. In addition, the HoG algorithm is applied to human/non-human recognition. |
