A Study of Circular Road Sign Recognition from a Color Image

Abstract(in English) In order to prevent oversight and false recognition of drivers, it is conceivable to secure the safety of drivers by automatically recognizing a road sign from image data. In this study, we proposed a method for recognition of a circular road sign from a color image. We first of all detect a circular region on a color image obtained from an in-vehicle camera by searching and detecting color pixels. After the circular region is detected, a circular road sign is recognized by using pattern matching of pixels values between a circular region image and template images.
