Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | 21st Century is an Open World. We have to change our design from designer-centric to user-centric. In a user-centric design, machines are no longer slaves to humans, but they team up with us, humans to solve the problem. Therefore, a machine has to communicate emotionally to understand the intent of a user and support him or her in making appropriate decisions. The issues of safety and trust should be studied in connection with user's confidence. Machines and humans must learn together to increase confidence. It should be noted, however, that human has many needs. Need for self actualization or challenges is the highest, so that we have to discuss the issues not only from the average viewpoints, but also from the individual needs to satisfy their respective expectations. |
